Slips and Fillets

The use of slips and fillets is a very important part of what sets bespoke framing apart from simple budget framing. It offers a quality and unique look that suggest a craftsman's skill has been applied. These little extras will increase the value of a framed work significantly, which, in turn, means that the profit margin also increases. Smaller slips and fillets can be used inside mounts, whilst the larger spoon slips can be fitted in the frame rebate, providing greater depth.

IMPORTANT

  • Exact size = the measurement to the outside of the frame
  • Glass size = the size of the glass that will fit into the rebate.

The maximum size for chop services is 140cm (Exact size) or 120cm (Glass size) unless you arrange personal pickup.

What is "Chop Service"?

Chop service is where we mitre the moulding to your specified size.

All you have to do is join the pieces of moulding together to make the frame.

To order chop service just fill in either the EXACT SIZE or GLASS SIZE width and height for your chosen moulding type.

EXACT SIZE are the dimensions (length by height) of the external edges of the frame

GLASS SIZE dimensions are those of the board / total artwork package being fitted into the frame.  They include the mount where one is being used.  NB when creating chopped sections for glass size we add 2mm to the dimensions in order to create an easy fit.

Make sure you state whether it is exact or glass size you are ordering.
