OPEN DAY: Where Are They Now?

DIYframing has been running and developing its training programme for 10 years.  That means we must have introduced at least 3,000 people to the joys of picture framing!! Some of you still enjoy framing your own pieces; others have paid for holidays on their earnings, working on a small scale; artists & photographers are marketing their own framed pieces for sale; while some have opened framing businesses. These are often featured on our Case Studies pages.

We would love to find out what you are up to.  Visit our Facebook page: if you haven't visited us already you could add us to your likes.  But do get in touch and let us know what you are up to.  We are happy to give links, feature comments and even include a photo gallery of framing and or workshops / studios.  For those not wanting to use Facebook, please drop us a line using

OPEN DAY: Who Are You?

Over many years of training people we have a wide array of photographs of people hard at work during our training sessions.  Have a look at our All About Framing, Facebook page where we will be showing some of those shots.  Can you spot yourself and do you want to admit it? Again we would love to hear from you.

Presenting Photography Seminar150.jpg

Something for everyone over our two, free Open Day seminars.

Session 1 10.30 - 11.30 am Framing From Scratch: ideal for anyone just starting out or those wanting a few little tricks of the trade.  We demonstrate the whole process, from planning to hanging: a print with double mount, framed (pre-finished moulding) using simple hand tools.

Session 2 12.30 - 1.30 pm Choice Framing: you know the basic techniques of framing & mount cutting, but what else can you do to make your framing stand out … without over-complicating things? We explore choosing mouldings - how colours and profiles can impact on projects. THEN 5 cutting / mount techniques used to match practical requirements of the moulding withg the aesthetic demands of the artwork. More Detail

Whilst these sessions are free, places are limited.  To avoid disappointment please reserve places (asap), in advance, using email contact: info@diyframing.com

New in Stock

Economy Shelving System150.jpg

GLASS CLEANER:  Krystall Clean Glass Spray is a new cleaner that we have sourced.  It provides excellent results and is the product of choice for all of Sunflower Framing projects

RUBBER ROLLERS:  a new suite of rollers in 3 sizes, 60 mm, 100 mm & 150 mm.  These are to replace the existing rollers, which are being phased out.  The narrower roller provides an additional choice and is especially useful for working with tapes.

WORKSHOP SHELVING: economy shelving solution.  Easy to construct, offering 4 shelves. No nuts and bolts - just tap together for simple assembly. Takes 175kg uniformly distributed weight

READY MADE FRAMES: two new ranges in the ready-mades.  There is an elegant white stain, flat moulding (22mm wide) with a substantial rebate (17mm).  This is completely new to our Ready Made selection and offers a great contemporary style with real presence. Secondly there is a new natural wood moulding, (36NW) replacing 21NW, which has been discontinued as a Ready Made

October 2013

The big items for us during the next couple of months are our Open Day, in early November, and our Business Development Week towards the end of November.  The theme for the Open Day is DIYframing re-united and hope that the many hundreds of people we have trained and launched into framing, during our 10 years of operation, will take a moment to re-visit our site and even come and see us on 2nd November.  And of course there are the usual great offers, free seminars and expert staff on hand to help with any queries / demonstrations.

The Business Development Week provides you with the chance to discover / try out as much as you want, in order to support you along the path of generating income from framing: so make sure you have a look and see what might work for you.  Some places still available on each session.

As well as the on-going moulding upgrade with all those new profiles / styles and reduced prices, we also have a couple of new stock items to tell you about.  So, all in all, there’s plenty to explore through this latest newsletter.
