Summer Open Day - 16th July

OpenDay2011.jpg

Book your seminar place today!

The DIYframing Open Day is fast approaching: Saturday July 16th, 10.00 am - 2.30 pm. As always we will be offering a free seminar, providing some great ideas that are easy to use and transform your framing. This time we explore: how slips are used to extend a rebate / decorative feature under a frame; lining a window mount with a fillet; using a slip under a mount; creating a hand-coloured inner mount (on a double mount); creating coloured bevel edges (not just black core!). Places are limited so you do need to book with Judy to avoid missing out.

There will be loads of bargains with ‘as new’ & ex demo items up for grabs at knock-down prices, special offers on some materials, expert advice about your framing projects and demonstrations of some of the new range of underpinners & mount cutters now available.

And if that’s not enough, the results of the Sunflower Framing Open Children’s Art Competition will be announced, with a chance to see an exhibition of the pieces entered by youngsters in the South Bucks / High Wycombe area. MORE>>

Look forward to seeing you here.

LoganComactElite.jpg

The Logan Compact Mount Cutter is dead: long live the Logan Compact Mount Cutter! A bit over the top? What Logan have done is quite clever. The traditional Logan Compact has been re-named the Compact Classic. The price remains low and includes just about all of the previous system’s features. Then there's the new Logan 350-1 Compact Elite mount cutting system: still compact, but the extras provide exceptional value for money. Currently we have a special launch price of just £115 (including vat). Find out more >>

Master Classes - Be Inspired

DAIDW2011Winner.jpg

Each year we have helped hundreds of people to make a start with framing their own work. We show you the basic skills involved in good quality picture framing. However, having the skills is one thing, but knowing the full range of what you can do with them is another.  What makes a massive difference is seeing somebody in action; someone who thrives on creating imaginative designs as part of their everyday gallery work. David Wilkie GCF has run Master Classes for us in the past and is returning to lead another session in 2011. This year David is the WINNER of the Fine Art Trade GUILD FRAMING CHALLENGE award (photo is detail from his winning entry): that’s 7 FATG awards in total!  Don’t be put off by the Master Class title: find out how far you can extend your framing. Book both days and save £45.00.  Read the full article.

July 2011

There's such a lot going on at this time of year for us at DIYframing.  Another Open Day with all of the preparations on our part and the great ideas and savings you can benefit from.  Our training programme is thriving with courses filling up quickly, new dates / workshops being added and the great news that the first set of Master Classes is being run at the new showroom later in the year.  Logan is also embarking on some new ideas.  The first upgrade has been with their highly successful 350 Compact Mount Cutter: some new features but still competitively priced.  All in all quite a bit to catch up on.
