Our last December event is our Open Day at High Wycombe on the 9th December. Straight after Christmas we return to Cambridge with Leicester shortly afterwards. February sees us return to Manchester, where we will also be running a Fabric Framing training day, rounding off the month with a visit to Newcastle Upon Tyne. In March we will be at Focus on Imaging 2012 at the NEC and host another Business Development week starting on 17th March.  Do remember that, as well as discounts for booking the full week, you can also book individual training days.

Don't forget we have a full training programme at High Wycombe (HQ): the first in 2012 are 14th & 15th January.

Farewell Jan

We are sorry to say that Jan Doyle, one of our trainers, is leaving us.  As a star pupil from DIYframing, herself, she has led training sessions in the south and east for several years and has earned a reputation for being an excellent teacher and a thoroughly well liked personality.  Whilst she may yet put in a few guest appearances now and again, on behalf of everyone at DIYframing and all her past students, we wish her well and want her to know she will be truly missed.

Welcome Aza

Aza Bio.jpg

Aza Adlam will be joining the training team at the UK School of Framing in the New Year.  Whilst she will have similar responsibilities to Jan, the geographical area her designated courses cover will be slightly different, including more of the south-western venues.

Aza has been involved with picture framing since 1986 when she set up her own business in Bristol called “Decent Exposure”.   This became an increasingly busy, successful venture right up until 2001, when she decided to sell up and complete a Graduate Diploma in the Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics:  later she went on to teach at Earnley Concourse, near Chichester, running residential short courses.   When they needed someone to teach picture framing, Aza stepped in and became their regular framing tutor, later adding Miniature Painting and Stained Glass to her repertoire. Thank you for your continued support.

Until next time...

December 2011

This is a chance for me to add my own "Happy Christmas & Seasons Greetings" to all of you, hope that you have a great holiday and thank you for your continued support and custom through an exciting year in our new premises.

I also want to add a personal thank you to Jan Doyle who has been such an asset to the training team and good friend to DIYframing as it has evolved: she will be missed.  And of course a warm welcome to Aza Adlam, who joins the team, with such a strong background in picture framing and arts training.

This newsletter, then, has a range of useful reminders and essential information .... well, in other words, news! See you in the New Year, if not sooner.
