Logan Cutters At Show

DIYframing chooses the very best products to promote as framing equipment to suit all of its customers’ needs: from framers just starting out through to those with their own businesses. And Logan mount cutters provide the key to top quality, creative presentation of a wide variety of imaging.  Internationally, Logan is an industry leader in innovation and design. Creative design features pioneered by Logan include the squaring arm, blade depth stop, parallel border width guide, and production stops.  In the last 12 months they have chosen to improve, develop and redesign their range of mount cutters, to create a series of unbeatable systems.

These new cutters will feature on DIYframing exhibition stand (Q16). The most popular cutter has been the Logan Compact series, now available in two versions. The budget conscious 301-1 Compact Classic continues to offer simple, precision cutting at the very best of prices. Its “cousin”, the new Compact 350 -1 Elite, maintains the “compact” size, but boasts a hinged guide rail, new design straight cutter, 90 degree measuring arm, parallel border gauge, production stop and improved bevel edge mount cutter: in fact all of the features of the Logan 450-1 Artist Elite, but in that compact form.  The Logan 450-1 Artist Elite itself maintains the quality of its predecessor but with some great new features.

From simple systems to professional ones, the DIYframing stand will feature the new Logan range of cutters for demonstration, information and competitive pricing. Must be worth a visit.

Mount Board Show Stopper

Along with the exciting, updated range of Logan Mount Cutting Systems, DIYframing will be promoting the new range of Britannia White Core Mount Board.  Whilst Britannia has reduced the colour range slightly, many of the more popular choices are still there, albeit under new names in some instances.  In fact the new palette has been well thought through, providing great quality shades and textured finishes: so you can still create stunning mounts at affordable prices.

To help get you off to a great start with mounts, there is a special offer for visitors to the show stand: 20 sheets of A1 Britannia White Core (any mix of colours) for just £50 ... and sent postage free to UK mainland addresses.

Judy Robertson, Operations Director of DIYframing, explains how the team can make choices easier, “We will have colour specifiers and order sheets available on our stand so that you could go for a coffee or find a quiet corner and make you selections at leisure.”

UK School of Framing

If you want to find out more about framing and mount cutting, whether to save money or boost income from your photography / printing, DIYframing must be your first port of call.  Our sister company, UK School of Framing, has won an innovation award from the Fine Art Trade Guild, highlighting the lead we have taken in making picture framing and presentation skills available to all.  Having worked with over 3,000 students since the programme of workshops started, people have used their training to make presentations to the Royal Photographic Society, exhibited (and sold) their own work, set up galleries and, of course, hung pictures around the house!  Staff at the DIYframing stand (Q16) will be happy to tell you where and when training sessions are arriving near you.

More About Mount Cutting

But back to mount cutting, why not learn something new at the NEC by asking, on the stand, for a demo of a particular type of design or cutting technique: deep bevel (Foam Biseaux), Offset Corners, Double Mounts, V Grooves, Spaced Mounts etc?

“We will always try to show you how to do a job as well as show you the right kit for the job.” Duncan McDonald, CEO of DIYframing is keen to point out. “Whether you’re at Focus on Imaging, visiting our store or website, there are always plenty of free support, advice and ideas to help.”
