Patchings Festival of Art, Craft & Design

Patchings Show 2012If you enjoy the visual arts then this is the show for you, described in the national art press as 'the UK's finest and largest practical art, craft and design event'.  We will be at the show for the full 4 days, 14th - 17th June,at the Patchings Art Centre grounds  in Calverton, north of Nottingham.  Come and see us on our stand (whatever the weather): we will be demonstrating the new range of Logan Mount Cutters and diy framing tools.  Also find out more about our programme of picture framing training as well as getting advice and ideas on how to complete framing projects.  Of course the kit will be on sale and ready to take away with you.

Patchings Art Craft and Design Festival offers a rare opportunity to see exquisite pieces of art and craft being created by over 150 exhibitors who will be demonstrating, exhibiting and selling their work. The Festival will be inspirational, instructive and enjoyable. Watch the exhibitors create their work with imagination and expertise from a wide range of raw material such as clay, stone, metal, wood, precious stones, glass, leather, textile and two dimensional media. Clck for direct link to the festival website.

Look forward to seeing you there.

- 6th July: Stretching & Framing Canvas Based Art and

- 9th July: Framing Sports Shirts

These will provide people, who have covered the basics courses, with some great additional framing skills and open up the repertoire of what you can help people with.

Master Classes: Last Call

Don't miss out on our Master Classes with David Wilkie, GCF. Book now for remaining places on: Dates: 23rd & 24th June.  If you book both days (£315 inc VAT) you save £70!

Remember what we said in May: "If you ever want to improve the quality of your framing, practise is essential.  Perfecting cutting techniques, experimenting with ideas from books and what you can pick up from looking at other pieces of artwork hanging in galleries or in shops.  But there is always that “how did they do that moment” not to mention just knowing what else there is you can do.  And you really would be amazed."

David has put together a range of practical activities and demonstrations that provide a catalyst for you to become truly, bespoke framers.  You have the chance to watch and try things, you have access to David’s wealth of knowledge and, if you have a burning question, not only will he provide the answer, he will show you how." MORE>>

June Updates

After the beautiful weather of the extended bank holiday, it is difficult to imagine how things could get any brighter!  Funny you should say that, but if there's not much sunshine around you need to give yourself a bit of a treat.  So why not come and see us at the Patchings Festival of Art, Craft & Design.

Also in the newsletter are some reminders of existing training dates along with some new sessions booked in for Manchester.  Best not leave it too late - make sure you have a look at what's on offer before the last places go!
