Designer Moulding Range in Stock

Designer Range.jpg

Our new “Designer Range” of mouldings has been especially selected for DIYframing customers from a new set of Arqadia mouldings. The coastal range features several moulding types, each one in a series of natural shades: black, cream, wenge and white. The profile styles and widths allow for great versatility with framing projects and, as the shades are complimentary, you can easily produce a suite of projects where the look is similar but the palette is changed.

The lacquered range has a clean-cut, minimal look with a truly contemporary style. The high gloss finish will work well with photography and modern, graphic prints. There are 3 widths, each with either a black or white lacquered styling.

Art Exhibition - New Talent in High Wycombe

Harry & Darius2.jpg

DIYframing is delighted to be hosting (at its High Wycombe HQ) an exciting exhibition of artwork from a pair of inventive and talented young artists, Darius Beeks and Harry Jones.

Shut Your Mouth When You’re Talking to Me (exhibition title) features a variety of work including photographs, paintings and collage. The pieces are described as, “the desire to escape naivety juxtaposed with the fear of leaving adolescence and the potential for teenage tenacity.”

Darius and Harry have grown up together in High Wycombe, attending the same schools and sharing the ambition to take their study of art even further: Harry will be attending the prestigious Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing (the art faculty at Oxford University); Darius, the fashionable, foundation course at Oxford Brookes School of Aart.

Exhibition details:

Wednesday August 1st – Friday August 10th
Open: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm Saturday (closed Sunday) with
Late opening: 7pm-9pm Friday the 3rd August, Saturday 4th August and Thursday 9th August.

Admission is FREE & their works are for sale!

Not only does this venture showcase the artists’ creative talents, it also displays their enterprise and real endeavour to research, promote and run this event for themselves. We look forward to seeing you here.

Calling Art / Photo Groups Around High Wycombe

Earlier in the year we ran a feature about working with Art / Photography groups around the country (read CLUB TALKS). Since then we have hosted a similar type of event, but at our High Wycombe training rooms.

If you are involved with a photography / camera club why not find out about how we can host an evening out for your group? We provide the venue (plenty of parking), trainer and light refreshments: you have a bit a break from setting the room up and making coffee.  The bonus is that there is plenty to see at the All About Framing warehouse, and your members will come away, not only having discovered what mount cutting and framing has to offer, they will also know exactly where to come for materials, kit and support.

Project 11: Military Memories

As part of the Jubilee celebrations we ran a free seminar at DIYframing HQ, exploring how to address the issue of working with a series of different items all in one frame.  We decided to present a group of 2D & 3D objects, accommodating each in its own aperture with appropriate depths for each item, but with the specific aim of bringing them together with a “unified look”.  At the time we promised to write it up as our next project for our “library”.  And here it is: Military Memories

Thank you for your continued support.

Until next time...

July 2012

This month there's a whole raft of interesting things to tell you about.  After the success of our last Master Classes, David Wilkie has agreed to run some new sessions: dates in early November.  Alongside those, there are several interesting training days, coming up, to extend your framing skills, not to mention an early alert for the next Business Development Week.

Really exciting news about a new Designer Range of mouldings we are stocking, selected from Arqadia's new Coastal Range, plus the contemporary gloss of a lacquered finish.

We will also be hosting an exhibition of art by two young artists (based in High Wycombe), who not only have the creative talent to produce the works, they have also shown real enterprise in organising and setting up the event for themselves.

Add to that news about a new Logan cutter in stock and the latest framing project to view and there should be plenty to keep your interest in this newsletter.
