Thanks For Focus

For those of you visiting the Focus on Imaging Exhibition at the NEC, you will have noticed just how busy it was. It was a really good few days for us at DIYframing too. We had a great time, meeting so many of you: some familiar faces and some who happened across us for the first time. In all cases, we would like to thank you for your interest and continued support.

Find out more about how we can help with developing your framing skills and the extended range of venues we now operate from. (more)

New Moulding Range

M2033SR_100.jpg

As promised, we are increasing our range of mouldings with some exciting and stunning new designs. The newest additions are in the silver range: designer, square cut silver-foil profiles; elegant, scoop silver foil profiles. Each new set is available in a variety of widths, depths and colour undertones. (click for more)

New Corner Clamp

The Logan Corner Vise (trade name not spelling mistake) is now available as a separate item. It is the same as offered through the Studio Joiner package. This means that, with an additional clamp, you can glue and grip two sets of frame corners squarely in place before pinning. Of course, if you have a simpler joiner, this corner clamp could give you the same chance of achieving perfect joins, without needing to use strap clamps. Price £29.99 inc vat (click for more)

Cherry Orchard Framing

Cherry Orchard.jpg

Jan Doyle, one of our new trainers, remembers how her framing business started off.

Needing a creative outlet after leaving the theatre I started painting as a hobby. After getting some of my work framed I realised how expensive it was. I wondered whether it was possible to frame your own art and started looking on the internet for ideas and up popped the DIYframing website. I did the first two courses the Basics Of Framing and the Mount Cutting Course and invested in simple home hobby framing equipment. Suddenly my friends and family started asking me to frame things for them. (More)

Basically Creative

In amongst all of the other things we are up to, we have been putting a full list of course dates on line, taking you up to Christmas. There are some who may be missing out on getting started with framing, simply because we don’t offer the training package you are after.

However, we have now come up with some interesting combinations. The content has been slightly modified, to take account of the fact that some of you taking part will be complete novices. These specials could also serve as a perfect refresher weekend. Find out more about what's on offer, click Featured Framing

EARLY WARNING: Business Development Week

Bweek1.jpg

Here’s a quick reminder that our Business Development Week will be running in Beaconsfield, starting on the 19th of April. It is made up of 7 individual training days, which can also be bought as separate one daysessions. It is useful to know that you can sign up to each of the two business days on their own, just as you can with the other specialist days: 3D Framing, Conservation Framing and Framing Fabrics.

A limited amount of places are still available on most days. (click for more)

Calling All Camera Clubs & Photographic Societies

old cameras.jpg

If you are part of a Camera Club, Photographic Group or a less formal gathering, we would love to hear from you.  We are happy to arrange to talk to groups at meetings or arrange training days to suit.  All we need is a group of you (about 8) and enough warning to fit it into our current schedule.  Discounts may be possible on request.

We will be running one session for the Highworth Camera Club (Nr Swindon) - we'll keep you posted how we got on.

Thank you for your continued support.

Until next time...
