Basics of Framing

STARTING OUT: Everybody has to start somewhere. These two entry level workshops give all the skills needed to start to create top quality framed art work.

Titles are:

Participating in these two courses will equip you to make good quality frames for flat artwork, mounted and assembled - ready to hang on the wall.

For many people this is all they want to do, often to frame their own work.  However if you plan to learn more it is essential that you have all of the skills taught in these two modules.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Our Development Level Courses give you a range of skills to take your picture framing further. Whether you are a keen amateur or aiming higher, there are a number of workshops to inspire and teach you more specialised ways of working.

Anyone considering becoming a professional framer should consider these courses as essential.  They form the core skills that a framer should posess in order to be able to offer a comprehensive service to their customers.  However there are als courses here that will appeal to artists and crafts-people who have specific needs in framing their own work, for instance a painter might need to know about stretching canvas, a cross-stitcher how to frame fabrics.
